Upgrading your Titan Experience
Hi there,
We’ve been working all summer, pouring our hearts and souls into a massive upgrade to your Titan experience that you’ll see in the coming days and weeks. Make sure to update your app, and you should have access to the new experience soon.
Our vision remains to build the modern Goldman Sachs – the wealth management firm we’ve always wanted. We believe this upgrade takes a big stride towards that vision, with a lot more still to come.
You’ll see ten new things (yes, ten) that we wanted to walk you through here. Note: below we also outline changes to our pricing model that we’re excited by; just wanted to call attention to that upfront. We know you historically had referral fee breaks which were discontinued but which we still kept honoring for the last few years. Those will also be changing. More below.
All of these changes add up to one simple experience - the best place to manage your wealth and participate in the fruits of it.
1. Titan now has a literal face on your phone.
In case you’re wondering, this is Gaia, the Greek goddess and mother of titans. The reason we chose the name Titan way back when was because we wanted to power our generation of titans to prosperity. “Behind every titan is a Titan.” We thought Gaia was fitting for our new brand.
2. A new, intuitive wealth tracker.
Inside the app, you'll see a cleaner “courtside seats” experience for your money on our home tab. If you just want to get in and out to see how Flagship is doing, it’s now much more polished and simplified. For those of you who have a Microsoft Excel sheet to track your wealth…you no longer have to do that. You can use Titan’s Wealth Watch feature.
3. Insights about your money.
At the bottom of our home tab, you’ll see an initial foray into insights about your money. Much more is coming here this fall.
4. A simplified home for investing.
If you go to the Manage tab, praise Gaia, it’s now dramatically simplified. You can invest in Flagship, buy a stock or ETF, or put cash in Smart Cash, all in a matter of a few clicks.
5. Speaking of... Personal Trading.
For members who want to be able to buy and sell individual stocks and ETFs on Titan, we wanted to build the simplest trading account we could. We intentionally don’t offer 24/7 trading, options, or margin. The goal here was to allow our members to customize their portfolios simply with fast-enough market execution for long-term investors.
If you want to day trade down to the minute, we wouldn’t recommend trying to do it here just to be totally frank; but if you want to consolidate under one roof, it’s a great spot. Soon you’ll be able to transfer outside brokerage accounts into Personal Trading, too. Stay tuned.
6. Introducing Titan Access.
We’re unlocking doors for you to enjoy your wealth: the perks, the access, the deals, and the ideas typically available only to ultra high net worth investors on Wall Street. Because of our brand and scale, we’ve built relationships with partners across hospitality, leisure, fitness, music, and business for the exclusive enjoyment of our members. Much of this is NYC-centric to start, but 1) don’t worry, we’re expanding to other metros quickly and 2) several things on the Access tab are for the benefit of all members, no matter their city (example: an exclusive video call w/ an ex Federal Reserve leader after interest rate cuts in a few weeks).
We'll be progressively rolling out the Access experience to members over the coming weeks. You can let us know in the app if you'd like a priority spot on the waitlist.
7. Faster response times.
Our response times are now even faster. Both from our investor relations team and our member experience team. Ping us if you need anything. We know responsiveness is extremely important.
8. Free expert tax filing, coming soon.
We know doing taxes can be really clunky and expensive. We’re working with a tax partner to make it buttery smooth for you, with tax filing and expert review in the app, free for all Titan members. Stay tuned closer to tax season.
9. Titan is now application-only; you're already in.
The reason we are now application-only is because we’re really looking to go the extra mile with our service - the depth and personalization of advice from our investment team and wealth advisors, the access, and more. To do this, we need to ensure applicants are a good mutual fit. Note: we’ll give priority consideration to new referrals you make.
10a. We’re changing our pricing to be like Costco.
Per our work everyday doing diligence on investments for Flagship, we’re obsessed with great businesses and customer experiences. We love the Costco model. If you can commit to being a member of Costco, you’re going to get an incredible experience inside, priced exceptionally well.
We strive to do the same. As such, we’re replacing our existing asset-based advisory fees (0.25-0.90%) with a $25/month membership fee ($250/year, or 2 months free, if paid annually) plus a flat 0.20% annual advisory fee on all of our managed investment products. Personal Trading and ARK Venture Fund investments will remain advisory fee free.
This new pricing will take effect on your account on January 1, 2025. Our client agreement has been updated to reflect these changes, which will apply to you starting 1/1/25. You'll now see our membership offering and new fee structure included and articulated.
We want to make a big statement relative to other private wealth managers or elite wealth offerings that as you grow with us, you should not be charged a hefty AUM fee on assets. Notably, when you take into consideration the cost for a single phone call with a traditional wealth advisor ($100s per hour), the previous cost of Flagship (0.70-0.90% AUM fee), the cost of a typical wealth tracker ($10-15+/month), the access experiences we’re providing, the extra after-tax yield of our Smart Cash product relative to others that take much more of the yield, etc… we hope the value of Titan in this new pricing model is abundantly clear.
10b. Advisory fee breaks will be discontinued, but you can waive membership fees for a year.
You previously received fee breaks as a part of our legacy referral program that was discontinued in 2022. Our product has significantly evolved over the past few years, especially with the new features we’re announcing today. As a result, we’ll also be removing all fee breaks on January 1, 2025 and the pricing outlined above will take effect.
Until then, you’ll get the new product experience at your current pricing (with your existing fee breaks). Plus, if you refer a new applicant to Titan, we’ll give them priority review, and if we accept them as a member, we’ll waive your membership fees for a year.
If you decide to go in a different direction with your wealth, you can liquidate your account(s) before the new pricing takes effect. Our member experience team is here to assist; you can reply directly to them here.
Ok, that's a wrap.
Forgive the long note - just wanted to be highly transparent on all (exciting) fronts. Stay tuned for a bunch of events and market research this fall around the presidential election.
Our ambition with Titan remains unchanged. We want to help you create more wealth than you could otherwise do alone, and go the extra mile for you to enjoy that wealth in ways that others do not.
Best,
Clay, Joe and Max
